Position Summary:
We are searching for a Solutions Engineer who holds a patent-law background (JD or registered patent agent) and is adept at bridging the gap between client patent workflows and the technical capabilities of Junior. You will engage directly with law firms and corporate IP teams, understand their drafting/prosecution processes, configure the platform to their needs (prompt-library setup, agent workflows, onboarding), provide training and technical consulting, and act as a domain expert within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as primary technical consultant to clients during platform onboarding and implementation: map out firm’s patent drafting processes, claim/spec templates, prior arts workflows, and translate them into Junior configurations (prompt libraries, agent definitions, taxonomy).
- Provide subject-matter expertise in patent law and drafting: claims hierarchy, specification structure, enablement/support analysis, office action responses. Use that expertise to help clients derive maximum value from Junior’s agent framework.
- Deliver client training sessions (live/webinar) for patent attorneys/agents: explain how to use Junior inside Word, how to build and refine custom agents, best practices for drafting automation, and firm-specific workflow optimization.
- Liaise with product and engineering teams: feed client insights, translate legal-workflow requirements into product enhancements, help test new features/agent capabilities.
- Support proof-of-concepts and client demos: collaborate with sales/CS to showcase platform capability in real-world patent drafting scenarios (e.g., converting spec to claims, office action response).
- Monitor client success: review usage metrics, user feedback, adoption of agent libraries, reduction in drafting cycles, and report on outcomes; work with client to refine workflows.
- Maintain deep familiarity with evolving patent law and prosecution practice (US, EPO, etc) to ensure platform’s compliance and relevance across jurisdictions.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) with USPTO registration (Patent Attorney or Patent Agent) or equivalent patent-law qualification.
- 1–3 years experience in patent prosecution/drafting at a law firm or corporate IP department.
- Strong familiarity with patent drafting workflows: specification drafting, claims generation, office action responses, multi-jurisdictional filings.
- Technical aptitude: comfortable working with SaaS tools, configuring workflows, training clients on software platforms.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); ability to explain technical/legal concepts to non-lawyers (and vice versa).
- Client-facing experience: onboarding/training, running demos, translating business/legal needs into technical configurations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with legaltech platforms or AI tools in IP/patent domain.
- Exposure to Microsoft Word plugin workflows, DMS integrations, or automation of drafting tasks.
- Multi-jurisdictional patent prosecution exposure (US, EPO, WIPO) and the ability to advise clients on cross‐border patent operations.
